Redispersible Polymer Powder (RDP) is a pivotal additive for dry mix mortar.

It redefines mortar's properties by forming an inorganic-organic binder structure in cured mixes. 

Among various RDP products, JINT Redispersible polymer powder is a high-performance vinyl acetate ethylene co-polymer (VAE copolymer), 

a water-soluble polymer manufactured via spray drying of VAE emulsion. 


It is widely applied in dry mix mortar products, 

including tile adhesive, tile grout, brick laying mortar, self-leveling compounds, skim coat, EIFS, plaster and renders.

Core Mechanism of RDP in Mortar

In the alkaline cement hydration environment, RDP's hydrophilic protective colloid (e.g., PVA) saponifies & separates, 

letting the redispersible polymer powder form a continuous, water-insoluble film. 

This film performs reliably in dry conditions and long-term water immersion,ideal for waterproof mortar, 

exterior wall mortar and other outdoor applications. 


For non-alkaline mixes (e.g., gypsum-based skim coat), RDP still works effectively for applications not involving prolonged 

water exposure, though residual PVA may slightly reduce water resistance.
